1. The RAFFU Autumn Series of Competitions (RAF Junior Championships) will be held, by kind permission of the Commandant of DCAE, Air Commodore S R Sims OBE BSc CEng MRAeS DLUT RAF, at DCAE Cosford on 4 – 5 Nov 06. Detailed rules governing the events set out below are contained in Reference A.
2. The following events will take place:
a. Junior Sabre, Foil and Epee (Male)
b. Junior Sabre, Foil and Epee (Female)
c. Inter-Unit 3 Man Team Event
3. Provisional Programme. Fencing will commence at 0900 hrs each day. Check in must be completed by 0845 hrs. Late entries may be refused or a late entry fee levied at the discretion of the Director of Combats.

4. Regulations. The competition will be fenced in accordance with the rules of the British Fencing Association as amended. The RAFFU Executive Committee reserves the right to modify these rules, amendments to which will be displayed on a notice board at the venue. All fencing equipment must conform to the generally recognized safety standards. Particular attention will be paid to the serviceability of masks, jackets and blades. Blades are not to be ground or filed for any reason whatsoever, although corrosion may be removed with abrasive paper. Fencers are reminded of the requirement to be a member of at least one recognized UK Fencing Authority. Insurance can not be guaranteed by the RAFFU. British Fencing Association membership forms will NOT be available at the venue.
5. Entries. Personnel wishing to compete should fully complete the entry form at Annex A or register via the RAFFU website by visiting:

Entry fees of £5 per weapon are to be paid to the Director of Combats at the venue.
6. Accommodation. All fencers will ideally be accommodated at DCAE Cosford. Accommodation is limited and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Any returns received after 27 Oct 06 will not beactioned.
7. Social Event . It is hoped that an evening function will be organized at the DCAE Cosford Sports Pavilion.
8. Travel Authority. The following authority for competitors is to be quoted on all warrants and claims:
QR 2484(5) and RAF Sports Board Letter PTC/299005/5/1/1/DSB(RAF) (date to be notified at the venue).
When 2 or more fencers are travelling from the same unit, cars are to be shared whenever possible. Subsistence allowance is not to be charged to public funds or to the RAFFU.
9. Preparation. The RAFFU Armourer is requested to provide sufficient pistes and scoring equipment for the competition, in addition to RAFFU personal protective equipment for novice entrants. Individuals are requested to bring personal equipment and blades but are reminded that all equipment must conform to current regulations and may be checked at the event. The appointed armourer, and the DCAE Cosford Fencing Team are requested to assist with the set-up, and clearing of equipment for the RAF Junior Championships. The set-up will be conducted on Fri 03 Nov 06 at 1600hrs, and the clear up will be completed after the competition on Sun 05 Nov 06. Any other fencers able to assist in the setting up would be appreciated, otherwise set-up may have to conclude on Saturday morning.
10. Trophies. All recipients of last year’s trophies, or holders of Junior trophies from previous years, are requested to make sure that the trophies are polished and etched correctly with the recipient’s details, and returned for presentation. All apologies for non compliance are to be forwarded to the RAFFU Captain with reasons for non-return detailed.
